Problems Are Like The Sun, It's Energy That Is Used For Growth

You can be affected when a family member or close friend is going through a difficult time. How can you best help your loved one through this time?

Because family is so close, it can be difficult to see yourself as separate and individual rather than just part of the family. This is why family can be a source of losing one’s self quite easily. For example, when one of my sisters is going through a challenging time, I sometimes catch myself bringing her problem into my mind to solve. What then happens is that both of us become affected by the problem instead of being neutral and able to see it. This can create resistance and effort to solve the problem. However, it is that resistance and effort that keep us stuck. When I am able to see myself as separate from her, I can be the neutral support she needs and help her move through the problem and create the change she wants to make.

We cannot solve other people’s problems just as we cannot heal them. If we take their problem into our space then they are unable to see their own answers. As spirit we create these challenges in life to learn and grow. Without challenges, we would not grow. When we do not allow someone to solve their own problems we are doing them a disservice. The same applies for healing others. What we can do is hold a safe space for them and validate their ability to heal themselves and trust their own voices.

I am not saying that we should live in a world of separateness, as we are all connected. What I am saying is that to see yourself as the unique vibration and energy that you are is truth.
For a visual, imagine a large circle. Now within that circle, create a circle for each of your family members. Do you see how you are each your own individual within this amazing family circle? Each individual has her or his own unique vibration. What is happening to one is not necessarily happening to the other. When we stay in our space we give the gift of allowing those around us to experience being grounded and their own space. We validate them as spirit as we are validated. The gift to them is seeing them and validating who they are as spirit while honoring our own self.
